’KiteSurfDirect’ [KSD] has been around since 1999!
KSD was founded by Gabor Stumpf who quickly developed a reputation for quality service and valued added support.
Opportunity for a changing of the guard occurred during 2007; the fact that my wife and I have 6-children with virtually all Kiting – made for an easy decision to embrace the business and not just the benefits.
I commenced Kitesurfing in 1999 and I have personally seen and been part of the good, bad and the ugly!
In fact when I started the prospects of Kitesurfing was overwhelming – this was back in the days when kites were extremely unstable and would literally fall from the sky then suddenly power up with gusts rendering potentially devastating consequences. Hopefully gone are the days of dodgy kites and dodgy selling approaches!
My 2-older sons were as ‘keen as’ to kite when I started. Both are part of the KSD Team and of course are now exceptional Kiters – but in 1999, I restricted the young guys to flying ‘foils’ on the beach for 2-years before I let them near the water! I was not prepared to take a chance with their young lives!
Kiting is a passion but it can also have major consequences if it goes wrong – and when it goes wrong it can go terribly wrong!
KSD continues to be supported by a dedicated team that have around since the early days of KSD. We are also encouraged by the fact that our suppliers including BEST, Ocean Rodeo, Litewave and Wind Wings continue to support our endeavours providing great products and incentives that enable us to offer a distinct price advantage.
KSD aims to provide direct ‘on-line’ support offering the best possible buys and latest innovations in Kitesurfing. In fact we only use the products we represent at KSD!
KSD’s objective is to develop local beach support fostering a ‘mentor’ relationship for beginners and those at both intermediate and advanced levels. If you’re interested in taking the next step in you’re Kiting experience – KSD can assist!
